When did you get into prospecting?
When I was a kid my dad would take me out gold panning in the Similkameen. I have very fond memories of those trips. When my own children started to take an interest in the outdoors, I revisited gold panning and rediscovered that joy I felt as a kid. My own boys challenge me to try new things such as metal detecting and magnet fishing to keep the sense of adventure in every trip.
What is the biggest piece of gold that you have found?
I found a 3 gram nugget at Pickerton. Here are some pictures of my best finds.
Which claim is your favourite?
That’s actually a really hard question because I have many varied claims.
I’d like to go prospecting with you. Do you offer tours?
Unfortunately I don’t offer any tours. I don’t take people out prospecting with me for two main reasons: 1. the liability issues and 2. I simply don’t have time. I have a full time job as a teacher and running the Youtube channel is almost another full time job in and of itself. When I do have down time, I like to spend it with my family.
