BC Vancouver Island Dallasite

From Vancouver Island in beautiful British Columbia, this very unique lapidary stone is one of the four gemstone BC is known for. Only found on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, this stone forms in the voids between the pillow on pillow basalt. It is a combination of epidote, calcite, quartz and basalt, with a very unique figure.

Pictures of cut stones are taken with the stone oiled with mineral oil and a flash usually on a black background to bring out the stones true colors, as if polished.
