Palm Stones
BC Jade/Gem Serpentine Palm Stones. (Stone small enough to hold in one hand)
Palm stones have been oiled with simple Baby Oil and the pictures were taken with a flash on a black background to bring out the true colors. The stones have not been polished. But if you choose to polish them the colors will really “Pop” on the stone.
Stones closer to the source of the jade usually have a hazy surface where stones that have traveled farther and been in the river longer are more river polished.
Wetting or oiling the stones bring out the color.
The “skin may be quite weathered. As with all Fraser jade/gem serpentine, the only way to tell for sure which it is is by cutting and testing a fresh cut. As the skin can often be softer than the interior.
